Panda has been with us since 2016 and loves his job!
His favorite things to do are throw his feed bucket about, go on walks with our participants and snooze in the barn.
He gives great hugs and will always be the first to welcome new friends to the group.
Always steady and patient, he is amazing with participants and volunteers who may be nervous or unsure around horses, but once they've met Panda that doesn't last long!
Panda will do almost anything for a treat, he even knows a few tricks! Beteen RDA sessions he enjoys relaxing and the occaional pamper sesssion.
Pie (known to some as Lillypie) arrived at Thornton Rose with Oshie back in 2013 when she was just 4 years old.
She is a total dressage star an has taken many of our participants to regional dressage competitions.
She truly loves her job at RDA and has a loyal fan club of volunteers and participants. We can always trust her to make each participant feel special and loved, as she shines most during groundwork and "Do It Together" sessions.
Ollie is one of our newest and a total dude. He has taken to his role at RDA like a duck to water (or in his case, an Ollie to mud!) and is a firm favourite amongst many volunteers and participants.
He is responsible for many giggles during sessions, it is hard not to smile when you spend time with Ollie!
As you may have guessed, Ollie has earned his title of 'Mud Monster' as he loves nothing more than a good roll in the muddiest patch of field he can find! Luckily our volunteers are always on hand to clean him up afterwards.
We are so excited to see where Ollie will take our paticipants in the future - from dressage to silliness filled hacks, he has taken it all in his stride.
Hi my name is Miss Rinca and I came from Ireland, I have been kindly loaned to RDA and my full name is ‘Rinca angus ceoil’ which means dancing and music in Irish.
I’m a bay mare and I love a neck and chest scratch. I also enjoy my massages, stretches and tail pulls. I love tasties and treats especially carrots and horselyx mobility and granola lick it.
When I’m helping at RDA I love to spend time with our participants teaching them to ride. When I’m not in RDA I love seeing the countryside with my young volunteer riders hacking, cantering in the stubble fields and popping a wee jump. I also love going to my cozy bed and stable at bedtime.
Willow is the smallest of our pony team! She is very kindly loaned to RDA and joins us for our RDA sessions on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
Willow is a Shetland pony who enjoys being cuddled and pampered by our participants and volunteers. She is great at obstacle courses in the school but sometimes finds it hard to keep up with the bigger horses out on a walk!
Definitely our cutest Thornton Rose RDA member! It is impossible not to fall in love with her when you first meet her, but don't be fooled, she is as clever and cheeky as she is cute.
Always at the forefront of fashion, she has taken part in many fancy-dress events, shows and parades with her sharers. Recetly, she has even aquird her own special front and back pairs of crocs which are both stylish and functional as they protect her hooves on longer walks.
